500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems

This compact skid-mounted ultrapure water system has a rated flow rate of 0.5 m³/h (500 L/h). It employs an all-membrane process combining pretreatment + two-stage reverse osmosis (RO) + continuous electrodeionization (EDI), consistently producing ultrapure water with a resistivity of up to 15–18.2 MΩ·cm.

Designed specifically for timed or non-continuous operation, the system features a high level of integration and a small footprint, making it ideal for industries with stringent water quality requirements such as electronics & semiconductors, photovoltaics, pharmaceuticals, laboratories, fine chemicals, and surface treatment.

    Core Treatment Process

Raw Water → Quartz Sand Filtration → Activated Carbon Filtration → Ion Exchange Softening → 5 μm Precision Filtration → 1st-Stage RO → 2nd-Stage RO → EDI → Ultrapure Water

500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 7
    ⚙️ Quartz Sand Filtration
Removes suspended solids, sediment, rust, and large particulate matter, reducing feedwater turbidity and protecting downstream membrane elements.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 8
    ⚙️ Activated Carbon Filtration
Adsorbs residual chlorine, organic compounds, odors, and color, preventing oxidative degradation of RO membranes and extending membrane service life.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 9
    ⚙️ Ion Exchange Softening
Removes Ca²⁺/Mg²⁺ ions to reduce water hardness and prevent RO membrane scaling. With feedwater hardness up to 8 mmol/L, effluent hardness remains stable at ≤0.03 mmol/L.
    2.png (2)
⚙️ Precision Cartridge Filtration (5 μm)
Final security filtration before RO intake, trapping fine particles carried over from pretreatment to protect the high-pressure pump and membrane elements.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 11
    ⚙️ 1st-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO)
Primary desalination stage, removing ≥98% of dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, and macromolecular organics. Permeate conductivity is typically ≤10 μS/cm.
    2.png (3)
    ⚙️ 2nd-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO)
Further desalination using 1st-stage RO permeate as feedwater, removing residual ions and CO₂. Permeate conductivity reaches ≤2 μS/cm, providing stable and qualified feedwater for EDI.
    6 (6)
    ⚙️ EDI (Continuous Electrodeionization)
Uses an electric field to directionally migrate residual ions and continuously remove them through ion-exchange membranes. Without chemical regeneration, it produces ultrapure water with resistivity ≥15 MΩ·cm (up to 18.2 MΩ·cm), delivering consistent water quality throughout the operating period.

    Key Features

500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 14
    All-Membrane Deep Purification
The two-stage RO + EDI combination eliminates the need for mixed-bed resin and acid-base regeneration, consistently delivering electronic-grade / pharmaceutical-grade ultrapure water.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 15
    Integrated Skid-Mounted Design
Pretreatment, two-stage RO, and EDI are all integrated on a single 304 stainless steel frame. All piping and commissioning are completed at the factory; simply connect water and power on site.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 16
    Optimized for Non-Continuous Use
Supports timed / on-demand operation. The EDI module requires no chemical regeneration cycle — stable permeate quality is achieved immediately upon startup, with no waiting for resin regeneration. Automatic membrane flushing before shutdown prevents contaminant deposition.
500 L/h Two-Stage RO EDI Deionized Ultrapure Water Systems 17
    Automated Operation
Equipped with a push-button control panel (start/stop buttons, running indicator lights, emergency stop) and automatic multi-port valves for pretreatment backwash and softener regeneration. Online instruments continuously monitor flow, pressure, conductivity, and permeate resistivity, with high/low pressure protection and dry-run protection.
    2.png (2)
    Eco-Friendly & Low Consumption
EDI consumes only electrical energy — no acid-base chemicals, no regeneration wastewater. Operating costs and environmental compliance burden are significantly lower than conventional ion-exchange processes.
    2.png (2)
    Industrial-Grade Manufacturing
Frame, piping, and membrane housings are made of 304 stainless steel; pretreatment tanks use FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) for corrosion resistance and long service life.
    6 (6)
    Low Maintenance
Automatic multi-port valves handle pretreatment backwash and softener regeneration; routine maintenance is limited to periodic cartridge replacement.
    5 (5)
    OEM/ODM Support
Flow rate, membrane brand, EDI module, control method, and branding are fully customizable to meet specific market and industry standards.

    Benefits for Your Business

    • Ultrapure Water Output: EDI permeate resistivity is stable at ≥15 MΩ·cm, meeting the stringent water quality requirements of electronics cleaning, pharmaceutical water, laboratory analysis, and high-end manufacturing.

    • Extended Equipment Life: Pretreatment + two-stage RO effectively protect the EDI module from scaling, oxidation, and particulate fouling, reducing core component replacement costs.

    • Instant Startup, Stable Quality: EDI requires no regeneration waiting time — rated water quality is reached quickly after timed startup. Automatic flushing during shutdown prevents membrane fouling during idle periods.

    • Space & Labor Savings: The integrated skid design dramatically reduces footprint; automatic multi-port valves and online monitoring minimize manual operation and labor costs.

    • Environmental Compliance: No acid-base regeneration wastewater, meeting increasingly strict environmental discharge regulations — especially suitable for export and high-end manufacturing customers.
