Ⅱ. Ultra-Pure Water System for Lead-Acid Battery Plants Process Details
1. Raw water tank
• Function: as the initial storage container for the external network water, play a role in buffering and stabilizing the inlet pressure, to ensure that the subsequent treatment equipment to obtain a continuous, stable water supply, to avoid the impact of fluctuations in the pressure of the incoming water on the equipment.
2. Booster pump
• Function: To provide sufficient pressure for the raw water, so that it can pass through the subsequent treatment units smoothly. Different treatment equipment has certain requirements on the inlet pressure, the booster pump can accurately adjust the pressure according to the process requirements to ensure the normal operation of the entire water treatment system.
3. Quartz sand filter
• Function: Mainly removes particles, insoluble colloids and algae in water, and effectively reduces the SDI (pollution index) value of water. The inside of the filter is filled with refined and well-graded quartz sand, which intercepts the suspended matter, colloids and other impurities in the feed water through physical retention, purifies the feed water, makes the turbidity of the effluent water ≤ 1NTU, and provides a better quality of water for the subsequent treatment process.
4. Activated carbon filter
• Functions:
• Reduce the residual chlorine in the water, prevent the residual chlorine from oxidizing and decomposing the subsequent anion and cation resins, and protect the performance and life of the resin.
• Remove the influence of the particles that may be generated at the initial stage of quartz sand filtration and after backwashing on the back-stage equipment, and avoid the damage of these particles on the precision equipment.
• Adsorb foreign color, odor and some organic matter in the water to further improve the water quality and enhance the sensory index and chemical stability of the water.
5. Precision Filter
• Function:
• Prevent particles in the water from scratching the surface of RO membrane, avoiding the decrease of separation performance of RO membrane due to scratching and affecting the effect of reverse osmosis treatment.
• Prevent particles from forming mechanical blockage on the surface of RO membrane, reducing the flux of the membrane and prolonging the service life of RO membrane.
• Isolate possible resin fragments and other impurities to prevent them from entering the subsequent mixed-bed system and affecting the treatment effect of the mixed-bed and the quality of the effluent water.
6. Reverse osmosis system device (RO)
• Function: Utilizing the principle of reverse osmosis, water molecules are made to pass through the reverse osmosis membrane under the action of high pressure, while the soluble substances in the water (e.g., salts, heavy metal ions, organics, etc.) are intercepted, thus realizing the deep purification of water. After reverse osmosis treatment, the conductivity of the effluent water is ≤10μs/cm, which effectively removes most of the impurities and provides a good foundation for the production of ultrapure water.
7. RO water storage tank
• Function: store the pure water produced by the reverse osmosis system, play the role of buffer and regulation. When the water produced by the reverse osmosis system does not match the water consumption of the subsequent treatment equipment, the RO storage tank can balance the difference between the two and ensure that the subsequent treatment equipment can obtain a stable water supply.
8. Mixed-bed booster pump
• Function: To provide sufficient pressure for the water after reverse osmosis treatment, so that it can smoothly pass through the anion and cation resin mixed-bed column for further in-depth purification, to ensure the normal operation of the mixed-bed system and the quality of the effluent water.
9. Anion and cation resin mixed-bed column
• Function: through the exchange effect of anion and cation ion exchange resin, further remove the ion impurities in water, so that the water quality of the terminal water reaches high purity, conductivity ≥ 10 megohm, to meet the strict requirements of the production of lead-acid batteries for ultra-pure water.
10. Ultra-pure water tank
• Function: Used to store the ultra-pure water obtained after mixed bed treatment, providing stable and high-quality ultra-pure water for the production process of storage battery and lead-acid battery, ensuring the smooth progress of the production process and the stability of product quality.
